I’m Ryan McGandon*, a software engineer currently living in Winchester, MA with my wife Meaghan, and our dog Shelly.

I was born and raised in Tolland, CT. In 2011, I fled north to Rochester, New York, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with a minor in Free and Open Source Software and Free Culture. After graduating, I fled back to New England to live in Boston and work for athenahealth.

When I’m not writing code for work, I’m writing code for fun, cooking something tasty for my wife, playing with my dog, reading, boxing, playing video games, or compiling my kernel.

*When we got married in 2025, my wife and I decided to combine our last names into a new one, so my last name changed from Gannon to McGandon. If you see references to Ryan Gannon, that’s also me!
